About

Hello & Welcome

I’ve been writing since I was about 4 years old.  My parents first noticed my affinity toward words when I penned (or penciled) my first book in a three subject wide lined spiral-bound notebook. The book was titled, “The Big Ears.”  This is all I remember about the beginning of my career as a writer.

One of my favorite authors is Mary Higgins Clark, and I’ve read all of her solo novels, except two, and I’m working on that now! I love the way she lays out the story and then sets up the crime in familiar places, always pointing the proverbial finger of dramatic irony in the direction most obvious, however, never jejune in her approach to keeping readers engaged in twisted plots and exciting characters that pop off of the page.

Another one of my favorite authors is John Grisham. Back in the day, I’d read EVERYTHING he wrote, but then I grew tiresome of familiar plots and running around the same template so I put him down, and stopped completely.  Recently, I picked up the NYTimes Best Seller – “THE ROOSTER BAR” – by Grisham, and couldn’t put it down.  I was wrapped up in the intrigue and mystery of this book so much that it made me want to go out and catch up on all the years of Grisham I lost.  So, I’m about to read Camino Island, which I hear is a departure from normal law-focused dramas.

On exercise: I play tennis. I try to run but after running 5 miles, my body takes a while to recover!

On music: I was classically trained in the piano for many, many years…. I’m teaching my daughter how to play now.

On dance: Classically trained in ballet and tap at a young age, set the stage for me to soar as an African dancer.

On television: You follow my blog, and you will see the scope of my media viewing.

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. I’m an educator.

Today, it’s all about passing on gems to my young children so they can be successful too!
